Presentation web portal with sub-sites and CMS

The challenge

The National Company Bucharest manages the largest airports in Romania: the International Airport Henri Coandă and the International Airport Aurel Vlaicu, through which over 7.6 million passengers passed in 2013. 

The objectives for this project were: 

  • Access to all information on the site in maximum 4 clicks  
  • decrease of the requests for information received by the airport administration by phone or e-mail with 20% with the help of a clear and intuitive organization of data on site. 
  • decrease of the bounce rate below 35%, that is, the significant decrease of the number of visitors leaving the site after they reach the first page, due to the inability to find their way on the site 

Our approach

The project for CNAB (National Company Bucharest Airports) consisted in the development of a web portal for the presentation of the company, with 4 related subsites, one for each service provided (Henri Coandă Airport, Aurel Vlaicu Airport, VIP and B2B).

The Portal containing the 4 subsites was provided with multiple complex functionalities adjusted to the communication needs and to the company’s activity, such as:

  • integration of all subsites in the same portal, with the possibility to access any one of them from any page  
  • a single administration panel for all of the platform’s subsites, with a single user and password and with the possibility to change the site whose content you wish to administer 
  • uniform and modern design for all sites on the portal 
  • responsive technology implemented for the same pleasant navigation experience, regardless of the device used  (desktop, laptop, pad, smartphone)
  • real-time information regarding the flights (connected to the display board within the airport)
  • easy management, via an advanced content management system, a  set of dynamic, up-to-date information. 
  • real-time analyses of the performance, visitors and visibility of each section of the portal 
  • high security level of the platform 
  • definition of several types of administrators for site content, with various administration roles and ranks 
  • the functionality to send the content for approval, before publishing it on the site 
  • definition of set-ups of automatic sending of newsletter, RSS

Results

Visitors who access the portal receive real-time information, corresponding to the data on the display board within the airports, regarding the schedule of the flights, departures, arrivals, delays or cancellations of flights. With maximum two clicks they can find any information they desire about the regular flight procedures.

Business partners can easily and accurately find all information required for carrying out commercial relations.

Regular or occasional users of the ceremonial services, business class and VIP services now have a pragmatic and efficient communication interface to find at any given time data regarding the availability, specific and costs related to these services.

The web page admins can enjoy a simple, friendly and easy to access menu, the possibility to define several administrators with various access roles and ranks and an efficient management system of the advertisements on the site and detailed statistics.
